Four little words have rocked your world.

“I think I’m pregnant.”

Where To Begin
Your first step should be to connect her with us. Even if she’s taken a home pregnancy test, she’ll need to confirm the result with a lab-quality pregnancy test. We invite you to come with her, if she is agreeable.

We may recommend a free limited ultrasound if the test is positive. This will show if the pregnancy is viable (growing), how long she’s been pregnant, and if the pregnancy is located in the right place. You and your partner will need all of this information to determine your next step.

What to do.

  • Listen. Be there for her, and together, walk the next steps.

  • Stay calm. We will help you get clarity – to see if she is pregnant and help you both chart the next steps.

  • Talk about it. Talk with each other, your parents, and others close to the situation. Hiding the news from people who can genuinely help you only increases the stress.

  • Gather all the facts. We can't emphasize clarity enough. Movement toward more information lessens the stress.

  • Express yourself honestly. It is normal to have feelings of anger, frustration, and fear. Make sure she knows she is not alone.

What NOT to do.

  • Don’t bail. The more you run from this, the harder it becomes to think and act clearly.

  • Don’t pressure her. Working together has never been more important.

  • Don’t forget. You have an active role. Listen to input as well as give your thoughts.

We offer free, confidential appointments for information about pregnancy, abortion, adoption, and parenting. If you and your partner have questions, need support, or want to talk with someone about what’s next, we are here for you.

Parenting Education and Assistance

We offer parenting education and support. Men can attend on-line or weekly group classes or one-on-one mentorship sessions to learn alongside other fathers.

"I'm so glad I manned up and helped her get an appointment. I went, too. The weight of the moment is unreal, but you will be glad you let these professionals advise you. Knowing things helps with the stress."
